This VHP-style quick coupler socket is designed for use with machines that have higher pressures (3200 PSI to 4000 PSI). The balls are larger than the standard coupler sockets. This larger ball seating in the mating radius of the VHP plug resists peening of the plug. This peening occurs when the gun trigger is pulled and the pressure forces the plug against the coupler balls. This peening is what destroys the coupler plug. This socket is of the highest quality made with the body being machined from brass & the sleeve from 316 stainless steel. It is highly corrosive resistant.
The o-ring is made of urethane to withstand higher pressures.
